Links to Music, Music Theory, and Acting Monologue Websites

All of us need to access outside resources for our skills now and again.  Below I have included a number of links to some music theory websites with worksheets, and different forms of explanation and illustration; links to find free chords for songs and free sheet music; and links to acting monologue sites.  Hopefully, these will be useful and practical resources for you to aid in your auditioning and performing for the future.  See what you think:

Music and Acting Links

This has FREE chords for hundreds/thousands of songs with transposition ability.  It is intended to work for guitarists but piano chords are identical, so this works perfectly for both instruments.

Hundreds, even thousands of songs available for purchase at a very low rate.  Each song is available for immediate download and printing; some allow for transposition.  This is full sheet music, though some songs are available in Easy Piano, SATB Choir format, Piano only, or with Chords added; often, several formats are available for each song.

This site has limited free sheet music for a number of different instruments.  I don’t use this website frequently, so I’m not sure how thorough it is but it’s worth checking out

This is a monologue archive for auditions that require them.  It’s important to have several monologues prepared, which means memorized, polished, and ready to perform at a moment’s notice.  You need comedic and dramatic monologues of varying lengths because each theater will have different requirements.

This is another good monologue archive.
This website is a monologue archive but it also has Film Monologues, as well as Theater Monologues.

I like this website because it includes LOTS of links itself.  Between these links, you should be able to find excellent resources for your audition needs.

Thank for reading this; I hope it will serve you well.  As I come across more sites I think will be helpful, I’ll post them here.  If you have questions about my lessons or about me, check out my website at www.SingitForward.net.  If you have any other questions, comments, or suggestions for future blog posts, PLEASE post them below.  I greatly appreciate and welcome any word from you, and will promptly post answers to your concerns.  Thanks again!  Sing it Forward!
